Welcome to Indian Youth Congress

Indian Youth Congress (IYC) is the youth wing of the Indian National Congress party.

Pre-Independence: Students very prominently and positively participated in the National Movement. This was very clearly evident in 1905, when students protested against Lord Curzon’s decision of the partition of Bengal. This also had echoes in Northern India where students came out in large numbers to participate in the freedom movement in spite of the fact that the Indian National Congress at that time did not have a political outfit for the youth of the country.

Our Inspiration

Shri. Rahul Gandhi

If India is a computer, Congress is its default program.

Shri Rahul Gandhi is the source of inspiration for IYC. He represents the youth of today and their voice. He is the ex-national president of Indian National Congress, the grand old political party of India. Rahul Gandhi is three-time Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. He holds an M.Phill degree in Development Studies from Trinity College, Cambridge University. As a politician with grit, he vociferously champions the causes of the common man in and out of the parliament. The issues endearing to the poor, marginalized, farmers, women and downtrodden remain closer to him. His thoughts and ideas are what drive the IYC to transcend different boundaries. Coming from a family who had dedicated their lives in the service of the nation, Rahul Gandhi remains embedded into the realities of the nation.

He is a lawyer by profession who has been associated with student politics since his days at the University of Delhi. He deems the youth as the catalyst of societal and political change. He spearheads the organization in all the fronts, be it in taking on the government on any issue or making outreach programmes in different part of the country. Krishna Allavaru, an LLM from Georgetown University lends his logical brain to IYC and points out the lacunae in the policies adopted by Modi Government. He shares the responsibility of drawing the roadmap of the organization.

He is very vocal about the issues affecting the youth and leaves no stone unturned in highlighting them. He firmly believes in the role of the youth in the policy-making process of the nation. The youth cannot be used only for raising slogans in the political rallies, but they have to be a participant in decision-making process. Shri Uday Bhanu Chib provides ample space to each IYC workers to express his opinions and ideas and incorporates them in the working of the organization.

Shakti Super She

Shakti Super SHE is an initiative of the Indian Youth Congress aimed at building and strengthening nationwide association and engagement of women with the Congress party.

With Shakti Super She, we intend to enable and empower every women and nurture the leaders within you. We are building a platform, a community and a conversation for the women, by the women and of the women. A revolution that empowers the Shakti within every women.

Raising Voice for Youth Rights

IYC regularly highlights the issues of the youth and launches agitations against the Government to draw the attention towards it. It keeps an eye on all the anti-people policies of the Government and takes sincere effort to take it to the masses. It employs all modes of protest to spotlight its messages. IYC conveys its protest through Candle March, poster, graffiti and Social Media.
